Carl is a highly accomplished Operations Director with over 20 years’ experience in the security, aviation, and public service sectors. At ESS National Ltd, he leads the strategic delivery of our services across manned guarding, scaffolding alarms, events and festivals, and a range of accredited training programs. Carl is known for building capable, responsive teams and driving innovation across high-pressure operational environments.

One of Carl’s standout achievements is the development of our bespoke Waist Restraint Belt system, now being adopted in sectors including aviation, healthcare, immigration, and mental health. Recognising the need for safer, more practical restraint methods, Carl helped develop the system, combining compliance with industry standards and hands-on operational insight. 

Carl’s expertise extends into inflight security operations, where he has delivered specialist escort solutions for high-risk passenger removals. His leadership in this space included designing and managing elite inflight escort teams, writing a comprehensive industry guide (eBook), and consulting for international agencies and airlines.

He also showcased the restraint system and its benefits at DISPAX2024, a global conference on unruly passenger management.

A PRINCE2-qualified project manager and certified Aviation Security Manager (ASM), Carl blends operational excellence with a deep commitment to safety, compliance, and innovation.
